JERUSALEM, October 11, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces demolished three homes today, Sunday, in the town of Beit Hanina, north of occupied Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that occupation machinery demolished three homes belonging to the Shawamreh family in the Al-Ashqariya neighborhood of Beit Hanina.
Yesterday, Saturday, occupation authorities forced a resident, Fadl Al-Rajabi, to self-demolish his home in Beit Hanina, citing the lack of a building permit.
Occupation authorities frequently compel Palestinian residents—particularly in occupied Jerusalem—to self-demolish their homes on the grounds that they lack permits; if a resident refuses, occupation bulldozers demolish the structure and impose exorbitant costs on the owner.
The occupation municipality in Jerusalem refuses to grant building permits to Palestinians while simultaneously demolishing their homes or forcing them to demolish them.
This practice violates international law and is part of the occupation's systematic efforts to forcibly displace Palestinians from Jerusalem to make way for the expansion of settlements within the city and its surrounding areas.
