Two injured, dozens detained during large-scale Israeli raid near Qalqilya

QALQILYA, March 11, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces launched a large-scale raid campaign in the town of Azzun, east of Qalqilya, at dawn on Tuesday, which resulted in the injury of two young men, the detention of dozens of young men, ias well as searching and ransacking several homes.

Local sources told WAFA that, at around 2:00 a.m., the occupation forces stormed the town from the north, accompanied by Eitan military vehicles, and deployed infantry teams in several neighborhoods.

According to the sources, the occupation forces closed the town completely with military checkpoints after the raid, where the western entrance (Ezbet Al-Tabib Road), the southern entrance (Kafr Thulth town road), and the eastern road (Azzun-Asla line) were closed, whereas movement was prevented through loudspeakers.

The occupation has continued to close the main northern entrance to the town with an iron gate for more than a year and a half.

The sources explained that the occupation soldiers severely beat a young man before detaining him.

The Red Crescent Society crews also dealt with the injury of another young man with a broken foot as a result of the occupation soldiers’ assault on him during a search of his home.

He was transferred to Omar Al-Qasim Hospital in the town, where his injury was reported to be moderate.

The occupation forces detained dozens of young men after raiding their homes.

WAFA correspondent reported that the occupation forces deliberately vandalized and destroyed the furniture of dozens of citizens' homes.

A sum of money worth NIS5,000 was also stolen from one of the homes.

The occupation forces stormed the western area of ​​the town towards Wadi Al-Ezba, where they raided a house under construction, and detonated an explosive device next to it before withdrawing.

In addition, the occupation troops forcibly evacuated a family from their home in Al-Muntar neighborhood, and turned it into a military outposts, where soldiers were seen bringing the detainees to the house for interrogation, before taking them to the military tower erected at the northern entrance to the town.

It is noteworthy that the occupation forces withdrew from the town after six continuous hours, leaving behind widespread destruction and attacks on the residents.
