Prisoners to Launch Open Hunger Strike in Israeli Jails
RAMALLAH, May 7, 2007, (WAFA)-Head Prisoners' Committee in the PLC, Issa Qaraqe'a said that the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails will launch an open hunger strike at the end of this month.
In a statement, Qaraqe'a pointed out that the strike is in protest against the continuation of isolating the prisoners in solitary confinement for four years amid harsh conditions as well as degrading of health conditions and deliberate medical negligence.
He added that Israeli prisons' authorities continue applying naked inspection policy against male and female prisoners and they continue the renewal of administrative detention against hundreds of prisoners that internationally banned and without legal and logical reasons.
