RAMALLAH, May 5, 2007 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas received on Saturday with German Foreign Minister, Frank Steinmeier, in the presidential HQ in Ramallah city.

During the meeting, the President briefed Steinmeier on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories in light of Israeli military escalation and the possible ways to left international siege imposed on the Palestinian people.

The president also tackled the efforts exerted to push the peace process forward.

For his part, Steinmeier expressed his hope that security and stability would prevail in the region so as to reach peace as soon as possible.
