Abu Amr Calls on EU to Meet Palestinian Demands and End Embargo
RAMALLAH, May 1, 2007, (WAFA)-Foreign Minster Zyad Abu-Amr called Tuesday on the European Union to adopt a clear and final stance that meets the Palestinian demands and ends embargo imposed on the Palestinian people.
During the meeting, in Ramallah, with EU Parliament Delegation headed by Mr Kyriacos Triantaphyllides, Abu Amr stressed on the necessity to end the embargo and conflict, adding that there is no excuse for not resuming international aid to the Palestinian people.
Abu Amr briefed the delegations, which composed of Mr Proinsias DE ROSSA, Vice-Chair of the Delegation (Ireland), Mr John BOWIS (United Kingdom), Mrs Frederika BREPOELS (Belgium), Mr Chris DAVIES (United Kingdom), Mrs Caroline LUCAS (United Kingdom), Mrs Jamila MADEIRA (Portugal), Mrs Luisa MORGANTINI, EP Vice-President (Italy), Mr Hannes SWOBODA (Austria), Mr Georgios TOUSSAS (Greece), Mr Johannes VOGGENHUBER (Austria), and Mrs Rodi KRATSA, EP Vice-President and rapporteur for the MEDA Programme for the Committee on Budgetary Control (Greece), on the latest developments related to the national unity government and its political stances.
