President: Laborers of Palestine Constitute Major Pillar of our National Steadfastness
RAMALLAH, May 1, 2007, (WAFA)-President Mahmoud Abbas said that laborers of Palestine constitute the major pillar of our the national steadfastness and in our people's battle for independence and freedom in our independent state, with Jerusalem as its capital.
In a letter addressing workers of Palestine at home and exile on the occasion of World Labor Day, President said this World Labor Day is a national day for all our people and our workers, who are standing at the forefront, underlining the determination of our people to regain their land, freedom and independence and to continue work to build our national economy in our independent state. The state which provides free and dignified life for all the sons of the Palestinian people who steadfast in the face of occupation , colonies and repeated Israeli attacks on our people and land.
He added that our efforts have been continued to lift the unjust embargo imposed on our people, which led to the impoverishment of our people and an unprecedented rise in the rates of poverty and unemployment in Palestinian society.
President affirmed on our national unity and confronting all attempts to undermine this unity, which is a source of strength and resilience of our people, stressing that the security chaos and attacks on law, order and security of the homeland and citizens must end irrevocably because it harms our cause and our people.
