Mubarak Vows to Push Peace Forward
CAIRO, April 25, 2007 (WAFA) - Egyptian President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak affirmed on Wednesday that his country would continue pushing forward the Middle East peace process for security to prevail in the region.
"Peace is the real guarantee for security in the region," Mubarak said in a nationwide speech on the occasion marking the 25th anniversary of Sinai liberation day.
"It is the key solution to the region's current crises," he added. The Egyptian president highlighted the value of peace which can only be truly appreciated by those who lost their lives and sustained injuries in order to establish peace in the country.
The peace treaty signed by Egypt and Israel 25 years ago paved the way for establishing just and overall peace in the region, on the basis of international legitimacy, President Mubarak said.
Mubarak concluded by expressing hope that the entire Middle East would achieve security, stability and prosperity.
