RAMALLAH, Monday, June 1, 2020 (WAFA) – A new coronavirus case was confirmed this morning in the northern West Bank district of Qalqilya, which brings the total in Palestine since March to 628, according to Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.

She said in a statement that the new case is for a 37-year-old man from the village of Hajja who got the disease after interacting with an infected person from the same area.

The new case brings the total recently discovered in the Qalqilya district to 14, including three in Hajja, 10 in Azzoun and one in Siniria.

Alkaila said her ministry is attempting to control the spread of the disease in that area by locating all those who may have been in contact with the infected people and isolating them.

Out of the 628 cases, 388 are in the West Bank, 61 in the Gaza Strip and 179 in occupied East Jerusalem. A total of five corona patients have died, including two in the West Bank, two in East Jerusalem and one on Gaza. Recoveries included 372 in the West Bank and Gaza and 155 in East Jerusalem.
