NABLUS, Tuesday, September 24, 2019 (WAFA) - Israel plans to seize Palestinian agricultural land from the Naqoura village, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, in order to expand the nearby illegal settlement of Shavi Shomron, the Anti-Wall, Anti-Settlement Commission said today.
Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlement activities in the northern West Bank, told WAFA this plan aims at seizing more Palestinian land to expand the illegal settlement at the expense of the villages of Naqoura, Sebastia and Burqa.
He said that there are plans to expand settlements in the Nablus district similar to what happened in the nearby lands surrounding the two illegal settlements of Yizhar and Bracha, south of Nablus.
Settlements are deemed illegal under international law because they are built on occupied territory and contribute to transfer of population.
