RAMALLAH, Saturday, September 21, 2019 (WAFA) – Dozens of Palestinians were injured from live fire or teargas and stun grenades fired by Israeli soldiers at protesters on the Gaza border with Israel or in the occupied West Bank, the three Palestinian Arabic dailies said in their main front page headlines today.

Al-Quds said 74 people were injured in the Return March protests in Gaza, while dozens others were injured in the West Bank towns of Hebron, Izariyeh and the village of Kufr Qaddoum.

It said Palestinians began yesterday an open-ended sit-in in the Muntar area near Jerusalem to prevent settlers from establishing a settlement in the area.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida reported in its main front page story on the visit of President Mahmoud Abbas to Norway and his meetings there. It also quoted Pope Francis telling a Palestinian delegation visiting him in the Vatican that President Abbas works in full faith for peace.

Al-Ayyam said Abbas called on Norway and members of the European Countries to take a firm stand from Israeli occupation violations.

It quoted Foreign Minister Riyad Malki saying in New York that Israel is creating new facts on the ground in order to change the final status issues.

It also quoted the United Nations saying Israel demolished 23 buildings for Palestinians in the past two weeks.

It also said the Israeli occupation authorities handed over yesterday corpses of two Palestinians its forces had withheld for weeks after they were killed in Jerusalem and in the north of the West Bank.
