Weather Forecast: Drop in temperature to reach annual average

RAMALLAH, January 7, 2017 (WAFA) – The weather on Saturday is clear in general and cold as temperature drops to become around the annual average for this time of the year, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD.)

Winds are southeasterly to westerly, moderate to active and sea waves are medium high to high.

The PMD expects weather on Sunday to be partially cloudy and very cold with further drop in temperature to become two degrees Celsius below the annual average. Slight chance of sporadic rain is expected on the northern areas.

Winds are expected to be southeasterly, moderate to active with strong wind at times with medium high to high sea waves.

Partially cloudy to cloudy skies and cold conditions are expected for Monday with another slight drop in temperature to become three degrees Celsius below annual average.

Sporadic rain is expected, particularly in the north of the country. Wind is expected to be southwesterly, moderate to active with strong wind at times and sea waves are expected to be medium high to high.

A rise in temperature is expected for Tuesday to become around annual average but weather remains cold and skies partially cloudy to clear. Wind is southeasterly to easterly, light to moderate and sea waves are low.

According to the head of the PMD Yousef Abu Assad, the low pressure that was expected to hit the region next week and bring severe weather conditions has changed course as a result of the speed of wind and therefore its effects will be seen only in a drop in temperature on Sunday through Tuesday with light rain on the northern areas.
