RAMALLAH, October 17, 2016 (WAFA) – Members of the Islamic State sabotaged on Sunday tombstones of Palestinian leaders in a cemetery in Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria, Anwar Abdul-Hadi, director of Palestine Liberation Organization’s political department in Syria, told WAFA on Monday.
He said ISIS sabotaged the headstones for graves that belong to late Fatah leaders, including Khalil al-Wazir (Abu Jihad) and Saad Sayel.
He described the destruction of the graves as “an offense to the history of the Palestinian revolution, its nationalist mission as well as a cowardly act that should be condemned.”
Fatah movement also condemned the destruction of the graves.
