BETHLEHEM, June 5, 2026 (WAFA) – The Applied Research Institute – Jerusalem (ARIJ) said Israeli authorities issued a new set of military orders on March 5 aimed at expanding colonial activities across occupied Palestinian territory.
In a statement issued on Friday, ARIJ said the orders serve multiple colonial objectives, including the seizure of additional Palestinian land, the imposition of new demographic and geographic realities, and the granting of legitimacy to expansionist practices that violate international law.
The institute said the measures further restrict Palestinian use of land, strengthen the colonial settlement infrastructure, and undermine the prospects for sustainable and geographically contiguous Palestinian development.
According to ARIJ, the military orders targeted 15 colonial sites across the occupied West Bank, covering a total area of approximately 20,000 dunums.
The institute noted that the governorates of Jerusalem, Jenin and Qalqilya were among the most affected areas in terms of the amount of land targeted by the new Israeli military orders.
