TUBAS, June 5, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists on Thursday night attacked two young Palestinian men while they were guarding a water well in the Atouf area, southeast of Tubas, according to local officials.
Mutaaz Basharat, head of the settlement file in Tubas Governorate, said that four colonists in military-style clothing assaulted two guards at an agricultural artesian well belonging to a local Palestinian farmer. The attackers also stormed the facility, tampered with its electrical panel, and caused the well to stop pumping water.
He added that the same group later raided the homes of five families in the nearby Khirbet al-Ras al-Ahmar area, assaulted residents, destroyed electricity networks and surveillance cameras, and threatened them with forced displacement within days.
Basharat further noted that colonists also damaged parts of a water pipeline supplying homes and agricultural lands east of Atouf.
