RAMALLAH, April 30, 2016 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused in their Saturday issue on the Israeli forces imposition of restrictions on the entry of Palestinians into al-Aqsa mosque, following an Israeli police’ raid into the mosque’s compound on Friday.
Al-Quds daily said Israeli police raided al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem, the third holiest site in Islam, and detained dozens of worshipers. Al-Ayyam daily said in this regard that Israeli police detained 38 Palestinians after the Friday noon prayers.
Regarding Israel’s suppression of weekly Friday rallies organized across the West Bank Districts, the dailies said dozens of Palestinians were injured during the peaceful rallies.
Meanwhile, al-Hayyat al-Jadida reported on the Palestinian government as saying that the Israeli rejection of the French initiative proves its intentions to destroy the two-state solution.
Al-Ayyam, in this regard, quoted Washington as saying that they are discussing the French initiative. Washington reportedly expressed its concerns over Israel’s excessive use of force [against Palestinians].
It reported on Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Riyad al-Malki, as saying that Israel fears a European recognition of a Palestinian state and seeks to undermine Paris‘ Israel-Palestine Initiative of Ministerial Meeting.
Media outlets said ‘French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault announced that ministers of 20 countries would take part in a meeting in Paris on May 30 aiming to relaunch the Israeli-Palestinian peace process’.
Meanwhile, al-Hayyat al-Jadida said that Israeli measures and movement restrictions spoil Christians celebrations of Easter.
