Newspaper Review: Israel Kills Girl in Hebron under Pretext of Attempted Stabbing

RAMALLAH, February 14, 2016 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies Sunday focused on Israeli forces’ fatal shooting of a Palestinian teenager in Hebron on Saturday.

The dailies said 18-year-old Kalzar Ewewi was shot dead by Israeli troops in the Old City neighborhood in Hebron, allegedly after she attempted to stab one of the soldiers stationed at a checkpoint in the city.

The three dailies reported on the health condition of Mohammad al-Qiq, saying signs of a “heart attackcould be detected on his body after 81 days of hunger strike against being detained without a charge or trial.

Al-Ayyam said Israeli authorities notified to demolish a number of Palestinian-owned homes in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem, under the pretext of construction without a permit.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Egyptian authorities Saturday opened the Rafah border crossing on the border with Gaza for Palestinian passengers for only two days.

The three dailies said President Mahmoud Abbas Saturday arrived at Dhaka international airport for a “stopover” on his way to Japan from Jordan.

Al-Ayyam said the Israeli army closed with earth mounds the entrance of Aqraba village, to the south of Nablus.
