BETHLEHEM, February 8, 2016 (WAFA) – At least 22 Palestinians, including minors, were detained on Monday by Israeli forces from across the West Bank districts and in Jerusalem, mostly during predawn raids into their families’ homes, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS).
In Bethlehem district, in southern West Bank, Israeli troops broke into the village of al-Khader, where they detained Shehada Salah, 19, Mohammad Rezeq Salah, 20, and Mujahed Da’dou, 15, after raiding and searching their families’ homes.
Forces also stormed nearby Aida Refugee Camp and detained Jamil Malash, 20, and Mohammad Fayez Talal, 15, after raiding and searching their families’ homes.
Meanwhile in Jenin district, in northern West Bank, Israeli army stormed the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin city, and detained two Palestinians, after raiding and searching their homes. The two were identified as Mohammad Rashed Kmail and Mohammad Ziyad Abur-Rub.
Army forces further broke into nearby al-Jalameh village, where they detained Mohammad Fadel Abu Issa, 20, after raiding and searching his family’s home.
On Sunday, Israeli forces lifted a three-day-long blockade of the town of Qabatiya, which was imposed on the town following the fatal stabbing and shooting of an Israeli border policewoman in Jerusalem by three of the town’s locals.
Meanwhile, army broke into the village of Huwwara, south of Nablus, and detained four Palestinians. They were identified as Abed Odeh, Awad Khmous, Izz ed-Din Shehadeh, and Mohammad Muwaffaq Odeh.
In the meantime, Israeli police detained a Palestinian from the town of Bani Naim, east of Hebron, while he was present in Jerusalem. The Palestinian, identified as Belal Tarayrah, was taken to an unknown destination.
Other Palestinians who were detained by the Israeli army in Hebron area were identified as Hatem Sweiti and Ahmad Tubeish. The latter, Tubeish, is a former prisoner who spent 16 years in Israeli jails.
Meanwhile, forces broke into al-Fawwar Refugee Camp, south of Hebron, and raided and searched the house of Yousef al-Titi, a local Palestinian, but there were no reports of arrests.
In Tulkarem Refugee Camp, in northwestern West Bank, Israeli troops detained ex-detainee Wa’el Habali, 25, after raiding his home.
Forces also detained Baraa’a Abdullah, 21, a Palestinian from the village of Deir Ballout in Salfit district.
In Jerusalem district, Israeli police detained four Palestinians, who were identified as Mahdi Abu Assab, 13, Abdullah Jolani, 15, Mohammad Salaymeh, 15, and Omar Mona, 17.
Another Palestinian, identified as Aatef Mteir, was detained by the Israeli army who stormed Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem.
