Weather Forecast: Low Cold Front Affects Region, Heavy Rains Expected

RAMALLAH, February 6, 2016 (WAFA) – A significant drop in temperature is expected on Saturday, as a low cold front affects the region, becoming cloudy and cold. Heavy Rains, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms and hail, are expected to fall over different areas, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department.

Winds are southwesterly to northwesterly and active. Wind speed can reach 60-kilometers-per-hour. Sea waves are high.

The region will remain under the affect of the cold front on Sunday, remaining extremely cold and cloudy, as temperatures further slightly drop. Heavy rain showers, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms and hail, are expected to fall over different areas.

A slight rise in temperature is expected on Monday, yet remaining generally cold, with possible scattered rain showers over some areas.

Cold weather conditions are expected to persist on Tuesday, despite a further rise in Temperatures.

The weather department warned about the possibility of flooding in low areas, high winds, low horizontal visibility and slippery roads due to falling hail.
