RAMALLAH, January 31, 2016 (WAFA) – An unidentified Palestinian Sunday was shot and injured by Israeli troops near the village of Beit Sira, southwest of Ramallah, according to Israeli sources.
The sources said Israeli soldiers stationed at road 443, to the west of Ramallah, opened fire on the Palestinian and seriously injured him, after he allegedly attempted to stab an Israeli settler.
This came shortly after 29-year-old Amjad Sukkari from the village of Jama’in, to the south of Nablus, was fatally shot by Israeli troops at the checkpoint, after he reportedly opened gunfire and injured three soldiers, including two seriously.
At least 164 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since the outbreak of unrest in the occupied Palestinian territories in early October 2015. Over 16,000 others have been reportedly injured.
