NEW YORK, September 17, 2026 (WAFA) – United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres said that the Palestinians in the occupied West Bank are facing a process of “pressure for annexation,” in light of the continuing illegal Israeli attacks and practices.
This came in a press conference held by Guterres, yesterday evening, Wednesday, following the start of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Guterres added that the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank "must never be forgotten."
He explained that Israel did not agree to implement the peace plan in Gaza, while the occupied West Bank faces a process of “pressure for annexation” through the colonialists who seize Palestinian lands.
Guterres continued: "The annexation of the West Bank must be stopped step by step."
