Israeli forces, colonists prevent Palestinian farmers from harvesting olives near Jenin

RAMALLAH, October 14, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli forces fired tear gas at Palestinian farmers from the towns of Fandaqumiya, Jaba' and Silat al-Dhahr, south of Jenin, on Wednesday as they headed to their agricultural land to harvest olives, forcing them to leave despite prior coordination arrangements.

Local sources told WAFA that Israeli forces had barred the farmers from accessing their land on Tuesday and instructed them to return on Wednesday under a coordination arrangement announced for olive harvesting in designated areas. However, the forces again prevented them from entering the land, while hundreds of families were also denied access to their land around the Tarsala settlement.

In Ya'bad, southwest of Jenin, a group of Israeli colonists attacked olive harvesters, assaulted them and stole their olives, forcing them off their land despite prior coordination to harvest the crop.

Local sources told WAFA that the Palestinian liaison office had informed residents that coordination had been arranged for olive harvesting on Wednesday on land north of al-Sahl Street, stretching from the Kafr Qud junction to Amriha. Farmers were scheduled to enter the area at 7 a.m. However, colonists prevented them from continuing the harvest and forcibly drove them off the land.
