RAMALLAH, July 20, 2026 (WAFA) – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas congratulated King Felipe VI of Spain and Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on Monday on the Spanish national team's victory in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In his congratulatory message, President Abbas said, "On the occasion of the Spanish national team's historic victory in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, we are pleased to extend our warmest congratulations and heartfelt best wishes to the Spanish monarch, the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, the national team's coaching and administrative staff, the players, and the Spanish people on what he described as a historic sporting achievement."

The President said the World Cup title was the result of the team's dedication, perseverance, and hard work, adding that the victory brought joy to Spain's supporters and football fans around the world.

He expressed his wishes for continued prosperity and well-being for the friendly nation of Spain and its people, and for further successes and achievements in all fields.

President Abbas also sent a congratulatory message to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on the same occasion.
