RAMALLAH, October 24, 2026 (WAFA) — The Palestinian Government warned of the dangers posed by the ongoing Israeli escalation across the West Bank, most recently in Hebron Governorate, where collective punishment measures include the forced displacement of entire neighbourhoods, the demolition of homes and structures, and the closure and siege of Palestinian cities. These measures form part of a systematic policy pursued by the Israeli occupation government across the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, cities and refugee camps in the northern West Bank continue to suffer the consequences of forced displacement and widespread destruction. Since the beginning of 2025, more than 40,000 citizens have been forcibly displaced from their homes, and displacement continues to this day.
The Government described this criminal escalation as an act of aggression targeting the Palestinian people, their land, and their resources. It held the Israeli occupation government fully responsible for this dangerous escalation and called on the international community to intervene urgently and immediately to stop the occupation and its government from committing further crimes in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
The Government stressed that this escalation, which has affected all governorates, will bring neither security nor peace to anyone, and that its continuation will only fuel further tension and escalation. It reaffirmed that the Palestinian people will remain steadfast, holding fast to their land, holy sites, and inalienable historical rights.
The Government also affirmed that it is closely monitoring developments in Hebron Governorate and across the rest of Palestine. It is mobilizing all available resources to assess citizens’ needs and intensify efforts to address them, alleviate their suffering under the current circumstances, and maintain contacts with relevant parties to bring an end to these attacks.
