JORDAN VALLEY, October 24, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli forces tightened military restrictions on Saturday at the Tayasir and Ein Shibli checkpoints in the northern Jordan Valley.
Local sources said Israeli forces obstructed the movement of Palestinian vehicles at both checkpoints, particularly those heading towards the Jordan Valley, disrupting travel and causing severe traffic congestion.
The two checkpoints separate the West Bank governorates from the Palestinian Jordan Valley. Israeli forces close them to Palestinian traffic for several hours every day, further restricting residents’ movement.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, there are 942 checkpoints and obstacles across the West Bank, including 824 permanent checkpoints and closure points and 118 linear obstacles. The total length of these barriers amounts to approximately 107.7 kilometres, according to United Nations data.
