JENIN, October 23, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists vandalized a memorial dedicated to slain journalist Shireen Abu Akleh near the Ajja roundabout, south of Jenin, on Friday.
Local sources told WAFA that armed colonists traveling in two vehicles raided the area and destroyed the memorial, which the Ajja municipality erected at the town’s entrance in 2022 in honor of Abu Akleh.
Abu Akleh was killed by an Israeli army gunshot to the head on May 11, 2022, while covering an Israeli military raid on Jenin refugee camp.
