Israeli forces expel Palestinian landowners, activists from olive grove south of Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, October 23, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces prevented Palestinian landowners and international solidarity activists from harvesting olives on land belonging to the al-Qassas family, adjacent to the Israeli colony of Elazar south of Bethlehem, on Friday.

Hiyam al-Qassas, the landowner, said Israeli forces raided the property, detained her family, checked their identification documents, and forced them to leave at gunpoint, threatening to detain them if they returned.

She added that the family had been unable to access their land since October 7, 2023.

“Today, we reached our land accompanied by solidarity activists who came to support us and protect us from colonist attacks. They came to lend us a helping hand,” she said.
