JERUSALEM, October 24, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian olive pickers in the village of Beit Iksa, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, on Saturday, under the protection of Israeli forces.
Local sources said the dozens of colonists attacked residents working on agricultural land near settlement outposts established on village land. Israeli forces fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters at the olive pickers and detained a resident, Mohammed Sidr, after beating him.
The attack took place despite prior coordination intended to allow residents to access their land and harvest olives in the targeted areas. Nevertheless, colonists attacked the farmers under the protection of Israeli forces.
Palestinian-owned land around settlement outposts across the occupied West Bank is repeatedly targeted during the olive harvest season. Attacks include assaults on farmers and preventing them from reaching their land, threatening their livelihoods and depriving them of their harvests.
