RAMALLAH, August 19, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Cabinet called for binding international measures to halt the Israeli occupation’s aggression on the Gaza Strip and its E1 colonial expansion plan east of Jerusalem.
During its weekly session held on Tuesday, the Cabinet warned of the grave consequences of the Israeli government’s insistence on advancing the colonial project known as E1, east of Jerusalem, which spans more than 12,000 confiscated dunums of Palestinian land.
The plan would lead to the displacement of several Palestinian communities and effectively sever the northern and southern parts of the West Bank.
The Cabinet stressed that this project constitutes a serious test of the international community’s commitment to international law and United Nations resolutions, which have consistently reaffirmed the illegality of colonial settlement activities.
Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa briefed the Cabinet on the outcomes of his recent visit to Egypt, during which he met with his Egyptian counterpart and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The visit included discussions on preparations for the upcoming Gaza reconstruction conference and the technical meetings that will precede it in the coming period.
The Prime Minister, in his opening remarks, presented the latest updates on the implementation of relief plans, alongside ongoing efforts by Egypt and other mediators to reach a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire.
PM Mustafa outlined key priorities, including urgent humanitarian assistance, the restoration of essential services, the provision of temporary shelter, debris removal, and progress toward economic recovery. He also emphasized the continued efforts to complete the unification of institutions between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The Cabinet also condemned Israel’s decision to revoke the visas of Australian representatives to the Palestinian Authority, describing the move as a blatant violation of diplomatic norms and a clear reflection of Israel’s arrogance and escalating disregard for international standards.
In light of the growing attacks by Israeli occupation forces and colonists on Palestinian farmers and Bedouin communities, the Cabinet instructed the relevant authorities to allocate additional financial resources as emergency support to strengthen the resilience of citizens in targeted areas, particularly within the agricultural sector.
The Cabinet also called for intensified international political and media efforts to expose the crimes committed by the occupation and colonists.
