GAZA, August 24, 2026 (WAFA) – Two Palestinians on Monday succumbed to their wounds sustained in Israeli attacks across the genocide-stricken Gaza Strip, according to local sources.
They reported that a man died of wounds he had sustained due to Israeli bombardment of the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younes in the southern Strip.
Another man died of his wounds sustained at dawn today in Israeli bombing of a tent in Deir al-Balah in the central Strip.
Meanwhile, Israeli fighter jets targeted a water desalination plant and a mosque in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City, with the extent of the damage caused by the strikes still unclear.
The occupation forces ordered the evacuation of a residential area in the Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City.
The area is home to tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians and local residents.
Israel has waged a military onslaught on the Strip since 7 October 2023, killing 73,422 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 174,401 others. It has destroyed 90% of the Strip’s infrastructure, with the cost of Gaza reconstruction estimated at $70 billion.
Since the Gaza ceasefire agreement went into effect on October 11, 2025, Israel has killed over 1,288 Palestinians and injured 4,290 others. The bodies of 813 slain Palestinians have been recovered during the same period.
Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.
The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
