RAMALLAH, August 24, 2026 (WAFA) – The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said that terrorist colonists’ attacks increased sharply during the first seven months of 2026, reaching 4,113 compared with 2,524 during the same period in 2025, an increase of 1,589 attacks, representing a 63% rise.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Commission said that the number of attacks in 2026 exceeded those recorded in every corresponding month of the previous year, without exception. The highest numbers were recorded in June and July, with 748 and 798 attacks, respectively, compared with 442 and 466 attacks in the same months of 2025.

It noted that the monthly trend showed that the increase was not entirely linear, but that the number of attacks remained high and became more pronounced as the year progressed toward its midpoint.

The Commission said the increase should not be viewed as a collection of isolated incidents, but rather as the result of an environment of political, security, and legal enablement that has intensified since the formation of the far-right government at the end of 2022.

It said the escalation in attacks coincided with the expansion of colonial outposts, particularly pastoral outposts; the arming of colonists and the integration of some of them into security formations; the provision of military protection; and the decline in accountability, alongside an increasingly functional overlap between the occupation army and colonists in imposing control over the land and restricting Palestinian access to it.

The Commission added that wavering international positions and weak deterrence and accountability mechanisms have contributed to transforming colonists’ terrorism from sporadic attacks into an organized tool for imposing geographic realities and pushing Palestinian communities toward decline and displacement.
