RAMALLAH, Monday, April 24, 2023 (WAFA) – Palestinian human rights are being violated in order for Israelis to enjoy their time, security, and freedom, said the ministry of foreign affairs and expatriates in condemnation of the occupation’s closure of the entrances of several Palestinian cities, particularly amid the holidays.
It condemned the Israeli occupation’s military closure imposed on the entrances of Palestinian cities, including the city of Nablus and Jericho, and the restrictions imposed on the movement of Palestinians as Palestinians celebrate Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
The ministry, in a statement, denounced the blocking of numerous checkpoints placed at the entrances of Palestinian cities, including in Jericho and Nablus, which the ministry mainlined is imposed by the occupation as a form of a collective punishment against Palestinians, including the sick, children, women, and elderly.
The ministry accused the Israeli authorities of turning the Palestinian people’s holidays and occasions into tragedies, while Israelis and settlers celebrate their holidays and settlers are unleased and left free to attack Palestinian properties, lands, and rights, but all the while Palestinians are forced to restrict their movement and needs.
It said that it is following up on these collective punishments at all levels, including relevant international and European courts.
