RAMALLAH, Thursday, January 5, 2023 (WAFA) – The Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) affirmed tonight it will confront at all levels the announced program of the Israeli occupation’s new government, which aims to impose facts on the ground through colonial settlement construction.
In a communique issued by the Executive Committee following its meeting tonight in Ramallah, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, it warned of the danger of ultranationalist Israeli minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and the ongoing attempts to divide the holy site between Muslims and Jews, saying immediate action is needed to curb the aggression of the fascist Israeli government.
The Executive Committee commended the positions of all the countries that have decried Israeli far-right minister Ben-Gvir’s storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling for boycott of the Netanyahu government which rejects to abide by international laws and legitimacy.
The Executive Committee called for an urgent meeting of the Arab League Council and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the aftermath of this serious crime.
It stressed the importance of continuing efforts to press Israel to hand over the withheld bodies of Palestinian martyrs, whose bodies are being held in the so-called number cemeteries and in mortuaries.
The Executive Committee affirmed that more periodic meetings will be held in the way forward for more action in the international arena to expose the crimes of the Israeli occupation.
