In a collective punishment step, Israeli soldiers force Palestinian shop owners near Nablus to shut down

NABLUS, Wednesday, February 02, 2022 (WAFA) – Claiming that cars of settlers were stoned, Israeli soldiers today forced Palestinian shop owners on a road south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus to shut down in what was considered a collective punishment step.

Awwad Nijem, a local activist, said the soldiers forced shop keepers in the village of Huwwara, south of Nablus, to close their shops as a punishment for alleged stone-throwing at settlers’ cars driving in the area.

He said the soldiers fired stun grenades at the shops to force them to shut down.
