RAMALLAH, September 29, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday tightened movement restrictions on the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, which has been witnessing heightened tensions since midday, according to local sources.

They reported that the occupation forces set up a checkpoint at the village entrance, interrogating passengers and detaining at least three amid fears that they could be subjected to assault.

Two of the detainees were identified as a young man and his mother. The other detainee was identified as a woman, whose was rounded up as a means to force her husband to turn himself in. After he went to the checkpoint, the occupation forces released his wife before detaining him instead. He remained in detention for about half an hour.

Later, a convoy of army vehicles raided the village, at a time when an armed colonist fired live ammunition at Palestinians in the village. No injuries have been reported so far.

Colonists attacked Palestinian-owned land in the areas of al-Khalila and Wadi 'Amr, south of the village.

Meanwhile, colonists stole olives from Palestinian-owned land shortly before the start of the olive-picking season in the village of Deir Abu Mashaal, northwest of Ramallah.
