SALFIT, September 29, 2026 (WAFA) – Colonists today prevented Palestinian farmers from the town of Deir Istiya, west of Salfit, from reaching their lands to harvest their olive crops, Farmers told WAFA.

The farmers said that a group of colonists, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, prevented them from reaching their lands and harvesting olives west of the town.

The olive harvest season in the occupied West Bank has been repeatedly marked by attacks and restrictions by Israeli colonists, including preventing Palestinian farmers from reaching their lands, uprooting and cutting olive trees, stealing or damaging crops, and assaulting farmers, often under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.

These attacks have intensified in recent years, particularly in areas near colonial settlements and outposts, threatening Palestinian farmers’ access to their agricultural land and their livelihoods.
