RAMALLAH, Tuesday, March 30, 2021 (WAFA) – The latest with the coronavirus pandemic in Palestine and the world, effort to combat it with vaccination, as well as the latest with elections in Palestine were highlighted on the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today.
Al-Ayyam said 18 people died of coronavirus yesterday in Palestine and 1786 new cases were recorded.
Al-Quds said Palestine received 100,000 doses of the Chinese vaccine, Sinopharm, and an additional 25,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine are expected today while 48,000 others expected next week.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida daily said Fatah Central Committee is in a constant meeting chaired by President Mahmoud Abbas in order to decide and approve its list for the upcoming legislative elections planned for May 22. The deadline for the submission of the lists is tomorrow, Wednesday.
Al-Ayyam said the Central Elections Commission received applications for the elections from 15 lists.
The paper also said the cabinet approved the 2021 budget with a projected deficit of around $1 billion, while 6000 new jobs will be created through projects.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said the budget was sent to President Abbas for his approval before it becomes official.
In its top front-page story, al-Quds daily said hundreds of Israeli settlers broke into a Palestinian archeological site in Nablus and others cut trees in Haris village.
It said the Palestinian people mark today Land Day at home and in the diaspora.
It also said that Israeli police killed a young Palestinian man in Haifa.
Al-Ayyam said the Israeli occupation authorities banned the Palestinian governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith, from entering the West Bank or reaching his office in al-Ram area, north of Jerusalem.
It said the Palestinian Doctors’ Union has eased its protest steps and strike measures hoping to end its dispute with the government.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said the Palestinian Foreign Ministry has summoned ambassadors of three European countries over their government’s last vote at the United Nations Human Rights Council.
