RAMALLAH, Tuesday, November 3, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 633 new COVID-19 cases and eight fatalities, Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh announced.
Al-Kaileh said that 633 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and eight others died of it in the occupied territories (the West Bank and the Gaza Strip).
Among the 633 new cases, 49 cases were recorded in Hebron governorate, 118 others in Nablus, 47 in Bethlehem, eight in Qalqilia, 52 in Ramallah and al-Bireh, 47 in Jenin, 28 in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, six in Salfit, 33 in Tulkarem, seven in Tubas, 229 in Gaza and nine in Jerusalem suburbs.
Al-Kaileh identified the new eight fatalities as a 76-year-old man from the Hebron-district town of Dura, a 58-year-old man from the Hebron-district town of Ash-Shyoukh, a 55-year-old woman from Tulkarem, a 62-year-old man from the Ramallah-district refugee camp of al-Amari, a 54-year-old woman from Bethlehem-district village of Dar Salah, besides to a 52-year-old woman and two men, aged 68 and 79, from Gaza.
She said that 575 recovery cases were recorded in the territories, while noting that 35 COVID-19 patients were still receiving treatment at intensive care units, including seven who are connected to ventilators.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 64,237.
Out of the 67,184 cases, 48,177 are recorded in the West Bank, 7,231 in the Gaza Strip and 11,776 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 59,156 and the death toll reached 573, leaving a total of 7,455 active cases.
Recoveries account for 88 percent, the death toll accounts for 0.9 percent and the active cases for 11.1 percent.
