RAMALLAH, Friday, September 4, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 806 new novel coronavirus cases and three fatalities in the last 24 hours.

Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh announced in a press statement that 806 Palestinians contracted the highly contagious virus and three other died of it in the occupied territories in the last 24 hours.

Among the 806 cases, 220 cases were recorded in Hebron district, 27 others in Nablus, 48 others in Bethlehem, 38 others in Qalqilia, 92 others in Ramallah and al-Bireh, four others in Jenin, 21 others in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, 18 others in Salfit, nine others in Tubas, 16 others in Tulkarem, 116 others in Gaza and 197 in Jerusalem.

Al-Kaileh identified the latest fatalities as a 75-year-old woman from the Bethlehem-district refugee camp of al-Azza, an 82-year-old woman from the Hebron-district town of Idhna and a 76-year-old man from Ramallah and al-Bireh district.

She added that 692 COVID-19 patients recovered in the last 24 hours.

Among the recovery cases, 105 recovery cases were recorded in Hebron district, 19 others in Qalqilia, four others in Jenin, five others in Tulkarem, 148 others in Ramallah and al-Bireh, 48 others in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, 350 others in Jerusalem and 13 others in Gaza.

She noted that 31 COVID-19 patients remain in the intensive care units, including five who are still connected to respirators.

Summarizing the coronavirus statistics in percentages, she noted that recovery cases account for 68.1 percent of the total cases, active cases 31.3 percent and the fatalities account for 0.6 percent.

According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 32,817.

Out of the 32,817 cases, 24,445 are recorded in the West Bank, 697 in the Gaza Strip and 7,675 in East Jerusalem.

Recoveries have totaled 22,362, including 5,925 in Jerusalem, and the death toll reached 192, leaving a total of 10,263 active cases.
