RAMALLAH, Saturday, August 22, 2020 (WAFA) – Three people have died after contracting the coronavirus disease in the West Bank and 311 new cases were recorded in Palestine in the last 24 hours, today said Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.
At the same time, 68 patients have recovered, she added, for a total of 15,338 in Palestine, including 11.103 in the West Bank and Gaza and 4235 in East Jerusalem.
Alkaila said one death was recorded in the town of Surif in the southern West Bank district of Hebron, and two in occupied East Jerusalem, where 148 of the new cases and 67 of the recoveries were also recorded.
Total number of corona-related deaths in Palestine has reached 138, including 121 in the West Bank, one in the Gaza Strip, and 16 in East Jerusalem.
She said that the rate of recoveries has reached 62.1 percent and active cases stood at 37.3 percent, while deaths were 0.6 percent of the total cases recorded since the start of the pandemic in March.
Thirty patients are getting treatment in intensive care, among them four are on ventilators.
With the new COVID-19 cases, the total in Palestine has reached 24,698, including 18,367 in the West Bank, 109 in the Gaza Strip, and 6222 in East Jerusalem.
