UFA (RUSSIA), March23, 2011 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas Wednesday condemned the explosion that took place in West Jerusalem,  causing a number of civilian casualties.

Abbas has also condemned the Israeli operation in Gaza strip yesterday that caused the death of eight Palestinians and the injury of more than twenty others, during the Israeli bombing on different parts of Gaza.

In addition, Prime Minister, Salam Fayad, said in a press statement “ We are following this matter closely, despite the lack of information so far about the explosion which led to the injury of 20 people.”

He stated “I condemn this terrorist operation, in the strongest terms, regardless of which party standing behind it”. He wished the injured a quick recovery.

The explosion took place near a bus belonged to Egged bus transfer, in Jaffa Street, in West Jerusalem, which was heading to the settlement of Ma’ale Adumim.

 According to Israeli sources an Israeli woman was killed, 25 others were injured; three of the Injuries were described  serious.
