JENIN, June 24, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces demolished a two-story home and several commercial shops at dawn Tuesday in the village of Al-Zawiya, south of Jenin, without issuing prior warnings, according to local officials.
Jamal Abu Al-Wafa, head of the Al-Zawiya village council, told WAFA that Israeli bulldozers began tearing down the home of Nasser Brahmeh, located at the village entrance. Brahmeh had spent nearly 20 years building the house, which also housed storage spaces and a vegetable shop on its ground floor.
“The demolition was sudden. He wasn’t even given a chance to remove his belongings,” Abu Al-Wafa said.
The Israeli forces also razed several nearby commercial shops owned by a resident of the neighboring town of Ajja.
This latest demolition is part of what Palestinians and rights groups describe as a systematic Israeli policy to dismantle Palestinian infrastructure in Area C of the occupied West Bank. In recent months, Jenin Governorate has witnessed a surge in demolitions, displacements, and military operations aimed at pressuring Palestinian residents.
