President after Meeting with President Mubarak Stresses on Significant of Returning to Calm in GS and WB
CAIRO, April 28, 2007, (WAFA)-President Mahmoud Abbas stressed Saturday on the significant of going back to complete calm in the Gaza Strip(GS) and West Bank(WB).
Following the meeting with President Husni Mubarak in Cairo, President said that the meeting has focused on the Palestinian security situation in general and the exploded situation in the Gaza Strip in particular.
President also said that the meeting with Egyptian Intelligence Minister Omar Suleiman has tackled ways of re-controlling the security situation in Palestinian Territory in addition to the forthcoming political move and the outcomes of his recent European tour.
As his meeting with Hamas Chief political Bureau, Khaled Mesh'al, President said that issues after the formation of new government were discussed as well as necessary steps to be followed to lift the siege imposed on the Palestinian people.
In response to a question about his European tour and if he views a possibility of lifting embargo imposed on the Palestinian people, President said that that he did not feel any complications before the European states, particularly not only on lifting financial siege but also on lifting political siege.
