President: EU Statement is Positive and Encouraging
ROME, April 24, 2007, (WAFA)- President Mahmoud Abbas said Tuesday that the last EU statement has included encouraging and positive points relevant to the political efforts of the Quartet Committee.
Commenting on the statement followed the EU foreign Ministers meeting in Luxemburg, yesterday, President told WAFA that the statement included positive points, especially the Quartet's efforts which call for an immediate meeting in the region.
President praised the EU attitude, and hoped the EU countries to increase their aid to the Palestinian people and the national unity government.
President Abbas said he is interested in the EU call for developing mutual truce to cover the West Bank, the matter creates a helpful atmosphere to resume political efforts.
