USAID Distributes Insulin to West Bank Hospitals and Clinics
WEST BANK, April 23, 2007, (WAFA)- The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded Monday insulin deliveries to 37 Palestinian health care facilities in West Bank (WB).
The distribution of $160,000 worth of insulin, an estimated two-month supply, began through Care International on April 21.
The first shipment consists of 4,700 vials of insulin used in the treatment of diabetes and is part of a total distribution of 26,543 vials. Subsequent shipments will take place in May.
The on-going insulin delivery is part of USAID's Emergency Medical Assistance Program, which responds to urgent humanitarian needs in the West Bank and Gaza.
