ICNP: Global Action to Mark 40th Anniversary of Israeli Occupation

RAMALLAH, April 22, 2007, (WAFA) - International Coordination Network on Palestine (ICNP) is intending this year to launch a global action to mark the 40th anniversary of Israeli occupation to the 67 Palestinian territories.

In a statement issued Sunday, ICNP revealed that the aim of the action is to assert the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

Under the banner "The World Says No to Israeli Occupation", the global action demands an end to occupation and the realization of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including the right to self-determination, the right to return and the right to establish an independent, sovereign Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem.

"We are building non-violent global campaigns of Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions, and we will work on a wide range of educational and cultural campaigns, all culminating in the Global Days of Action.", said the statement.

The action will insist that governments all over the globe stop providing military, economic, diplomatic and corporate support for Israel's illegal occupation, and instead create new foreign policies that will support an end to occupation, equal rights for all, and a comprehensive, just and lasting peace.
