President Meets with Head of Swedish Social Democratic Party
STOCKHOLM, April 19, 2007, (WAFA)- President Mahmoud Abbas met Thursday, in Stockholm, with Head of the Swedish Social Democratic Party, Mona Sahlin.
President briefed Sahlin on the latest developments in the Palestinian Territory and the Middle- East in light of the continued siege imposed on the Palestinian people.
President stressed the necessity for lifting siege, particularly after formation of the Palestinian national unity government in accordance with Mecca agreement.
They both discussed the necessity to revive a meaningful peace process that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within 1967 borders, specially after Riyadh Summit has reactivated the Arab peace initiative launched in 2000 in Beirut.
