Moussa Urges Arabs to Support Unity Government
CAIRO, March 16, 2007 (WAFA) -- Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa called on Friday Arab states to drum up in international circles much-sought-after support for the new Palestinian unity government.
Moussa's comments came before departure to Tunisia to discuss preparations for the next Arab summit's agenda and to participate in the Euro-Mediterranean Parliament conference.
The Secretary General said Arabs must cooperate with the Palestinian government and support efforts in lifting up imposed sanctions and all kinds of suffering on the Palestinian people.
Moussa added that it is up to Israel not to accept the Palestinian unity government, however a negative stance like that would not lead to any sanctioning by Arabs of normalization with Israel.
