Apache Gunships attack Civilians In Rafah
RAFAH, May 6, 2004, (WAFA)- Israeli troops, backed by US-made Apache helicopter gunships, rolled into the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah, amidst intensive fire, witnesses and Palestinian security sources said.... Witnesses said that Israeli tanks and bulldozers moved into the southern part of Rafah and began destroying houses.... The Israeli bulldozers and tanks fought their way into the Salah al- Deen Gate Quartet and began wrecking down houses.... Palestinian security sources said that Apache helicopters opened heavy fire on the area and damaged several houses.... They told WAFA reporter said that the helicopters started shooting indiscriminately in the southern streets of Rafah City, causing a state of panic among children and women.... Thousands of students were terrified and left their schools screaming and crying, witnesses said.... Earlier on Thursday, nine Palestinian houses were destroyed by Israeli war machine in al-Barazil neighbourhood of Rafah...
