LONDON, September 9, 2025 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas called Tunisian director Kaouther Ben Hania of the film "The Voice of Hind Rajab" and Palestinian director Annemarie Jacir of "Palestine 36."

President Abbas praised Ben Hania's role in conveying the voice of the slain Palestinian child Hind Rajab to the entire world through her film "The Voice of Hind Rajab," which won the Silver Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival and received support from international film stars. It will participate in numerous festivals and screenings around the world.

The President also praised Jacir's role in shedding light on the Palestinian cause through her films, the latest of which is "Palestine 36," about the Palestinian revolution during the British Mandate.

President Abbas stressed the role of cinema, theater, and culture in defending the just causes of peoples, disseminating the Palestinian narrative, and mobilizing further support and advocacy for the Palestinian cause and our people's rights to freedom and independence.
