Weather: Significant rise in temperature through Thursday

 

RAMALLAH, Monday, May 11, 2020 (WAFA) – A significant rise in temperature is expected today to become slightly above the annual average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate and sea waves are low.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 26°C and a low of 17°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 25°C and a low of 16°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 35°C and a low of 22°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 26°C and a low of 19°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Temperature significantly rises on Tuesday to become 6°C above the average, and rises further on Wednesday and Thursday approaching 8°C above the seasonal average, said the PMD, which warned people against long exposure to sunlight during the peak hours between 11 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon.
